Kyrie Irving Refuses To Blame Free Agency On Abysmal Celtics Series

Down 3-1 in their series against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics needed a big game from Kyrie Irving if they wanted to extend the series and head back to Boston. Instead, Irving scored 15 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist en route to a 116-91 loss that ultimately eliminated them from the playoffs. Irving had a rough series and was unable to provide the Celtics with the leadership necessary to defeat a strong Bucks team that looks poised to make a run to the NBA Finals.

There have been a plethora of rumors surrounding Irving this year as it is believed he will leave the Celtics in free agency. After the game on Wednesday, Kyrie was asked about whether or not his future was a factor in his bad performance.

“No, no,” Kyrie said simply before walking out of the post-game press conference. Irving has had a rocky relationship with the media all season so it’s no surprise that he took such a simplistic approach with the reporter.

With the series now over, the Milwaukee Bucks are off to the Eastern Conference Final and will await the winner of the series between the Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Do you think Kyrie is out of Boston or will he re-sign?
