Young Thug & AEG Presents Announce “Family Business” Festival In Dallas

More and more artists have been launching their own festivals in the past few years.  Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, Post Malone’s Posty Fest, and J. Cole’s Dreamville Fest all made their debuts this year. Now, Young Thug, who recently debuted a new song called “Surf” during a puzzling livestream,  appears to be the next rapper to host his own festival.

Young Thug’s teamed up with AEG Presents and AVI Entertainment for a new festival taking place in Dallas on August 31st called “Family Business.” The festival will be taking place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas and the festival is described as “a boutique curated event in a larger club setting,” according to Pollstar. Seven additional performers are set to be announced on May 29th.

“We’re not about being the multi-stage festival with three stages and everyone and their mother on the lineup,” said Cameron Almasi of AVI Entertainment. “There’s enough people in the market and very respected people doing that already. We don’t want to get in that lane. There’s so much opportunity right now with hip-hop, there’s so many things that haven’t been done yet.” 

Co-founder of the festival, Sam Alavi, said that they’re planning on expanding the festival in multiple markets in 2020. “The best shows I went to growing up were indoors and with such a good lineup that no matter what, I wouldn’t leave to get a beer, use the restroom, I didn’t take my eyes off the stage, and that’s where Cameron and I saw eye to eye,” Alavi said.  “We want to highlight that feeling to the biggest capacity possible without losing that vibe.”
