Rod Wave Relies On His Old Habits In “And I Still”

Florida native Rod Wave is officially out of the mud and he’s striving as one of the hottest up-and-coming talents on the scene. What you see is what you get from him. He brings emotion and heartbreak to each one of his songs, going viral with “Heart On Ice” and never looking back. His new album, titled Pray 4 Love, has been certified Gold by the RIAA, and, to celebrate, Rod Wave just dropped a new single and video.

Releasing “And I Still” via Alamo Records, the rapper hangs with jeweler Johnny Dang in the video and mobs with the crew. As he gets some new pieces for his collection, Wave sings about how, even though he’s made it out the trenches, he still relies on old habits.

“Take a brick and break a brick and get it gone, yeah/Take a bitch and break a bitch and send her home, yeah,” he raps, not switching up even with his newfound success.

Listen to the brand new single below and let us know your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics:

Ok, gang-gang forever, I’ma die for my respect, uh
Say my name, whatever, get you popped through a text, uh
Hunnid K or better, I just wrapped it ’round my neck
Johnny Dang, king of bling, I just re-fucked up a check
On the road, doin’ shows, comin’ to your city next
Bunch of bottom boy survivors, be a long way from the ‘jects, uh
It might need some thinkin’, and, God, I finally get to flex
Reminisce about hard times right before I bought a jet
