Kawhi Leonard Carries Raptors In Loss, Kyle Lowry Vows To Help More

There has been a narrative in the NBA over the last few seasons that Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors tends to disappear come playoff time. Unfortunately for the Raptors, Lowry’s struggles have continued this postseason and were on full display last night when the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Raptors 116-95. With the win, the Sixers took a 2-1 lead in their second-round series. While Lowry only put up 7 points on 2-10 shooting, Kawhi Leonard continued to shine as he scored 33 points in 37 minutes of action. Meanwhile, Pascal Siakim managed to score 20 points for the Raptors.

After the game, Lowry praised Leonard’s efforts while also putting the loss on his back. The Raptors star was a -28 on the court tonight and knows he needs to do more if the team wants to win the series.

“We’ve got to help him,” Lowry said according to ESPN. “I was literally saying it during the game. We have to help him. He’s doing everything he can possibly do offensively and defensively to f—ing win games, and myself, I’m not helping him enough. I’m not putting it on nobody else but me.”

The Raptors will have a couple of days off to regroup as Game 4 goes down on Sunday in Philadelphia.
