John Singleton is Still Alive Fighting for his Life Despite Reports

Despite reports of the contrary, John Singleton is still alive and fighting for his life at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a stroke about a week ago. A spokesperson for the director told Newsweek that reports of his passing is “inaccurate.”

FOX4 reported that the iconic helmsman passed away after allegedly falling into a coma.

Singleton suffered a stroke on April 17th after returning from Costa Rica when he complained about weakness in his legs. After he was taken to a hospital, he had the stroke there.

“John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care,” Singleton’s reps said in a statement to Newsweek on April 20.

“We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues,” the statement continued.

We’re praying for the filmmakers speedy recovery.

John Singleton left his print in Hollywood and pop culture with critically acclaimed flicks like Boyz n the Hood, starring Ice Cube, Laurence Fishburne, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Morris Chestnut.
