Janelle Monae & Lupita Nyong’o Rumoured To Be Dating After Met Gala

The last person that was romantically linked to Janelle Monae was Tessa Thompson and from what we know, they never announced a break-up. However, after the Met Gala last week, some fans have started to speculate about Janelle’s relationship status, noticing that she’s been getting very cuddly with Lupita Nyong’o and starting rumours that they might actually be dating.

For what it’s worth, neither side has confirmed the speculation. People are going purely based on what they’re seeing and what went down at the extravagant Met Gala. Janelle Monae has been open about her sexuality, coming out as pansexual last year. She hasn’t always been clear about who she’s spending her time with but that’s not exactly any of our business now, is it? A number of gossip websites have started to run with the speculation that Janelle and Lupita could be a little bit more than just friends. 

The speculation all started when Monae fans noticed that Tessa Thompson was not with the singer at the Met Gala. Lupita and Janelle have been friends for years but something about their recent appearance together seemed to give people hope that they’ve levelled up their relationship. At this point, it’s likely that they’re both just having fun flirting with each other. If Twitter has any say in things though, they’ll be getting married next week.
