James Harden’s Eyes Are Still Brutally Bloodshot As Game 3 Approaches

Houston Rockets All Star shooting guard James Harden is still dealing with some serious irritation in his eyes after getting raked in the face by Draymond Green on Tuesday night.

Immediately following the Game 2 loss, Harden told reporters, “It’s pretty blurry right now. Hopefully it gets better day by day.” He added, “I can barely see. Just tried to go out there and do what I can to help my teammates.” 

Days later, Harden’s eyes aren’t looking much better – as seen in the photos taken at the Rockets’ practice on Thursday. 

Despite how bad his eyes might look, there’s no chance the MVP candidate is going to miss Game 3.

“If I played barely seeing last game, what makes you think I’m going to sit out Game 3,” Harden said today, according to the AP.

“It’s still there,” he said. “It’s still tough, especially in bright lights but I can see y’all a little bit better so that’s all that matters.”

“It’s different,” he said. “Like an ankle injury, I’ve rolled my ankle 100 times or whatnot and you kind of know how to deal with that. When you’ve got blurry vision and you can’t see it’s really difficult. But still no excuses.”

Luckily for Harden and the Rockets, Game 3 isn’t scheduled to take place until Saturday night (8:30pm ET, ABC) so he still has another 48 hours for things to improve.
