James Harden “Can Barely See” After Injury Causes Bleeding To Both Eyes

In Game 2 of their second-round matchup, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 115-109 to take a 2-0 lead. The biggest story of the game though was an injury sustained to James Harden who was struck in the eye by Draymond Green. Harden stayed down for a while before getting up with his eyes all red. He suffered bleeding from both eyes and even had a laceration on his left eyelid. Afterward, Harden spoke about the injury and how he’s having some trouble with his eyesight.

“It’s pretty blurry right now,” Harden said according to ESPN. “Hopefully it gets better day by day.”

Green spoke about Harden’s injury afterward and said that he’s sorry for hurting him with the inadvertent arm to the face. Despite being rivals on the court, Green never wanted to hurt anyone.

“I made a mistake and hit him in his eye,” Green said. “Just [wanted] to check on him. It’s not about hurting anybody out here. So many times, people forget that when a guy [has] an injury, you live with that every day, every second of every day. It’s not just about this game.”

Harden will have a few days to rest as Game 3 goes down on Saturday in Houston.
