Giants Take Duke QB Daniel Jones 6th Overall: Twitter Erupts

The New York Giants entered the first-round of the 2019 NFL Draft last night with plenty of needs to fill on both sides of the ball – but it’s clear that fans were hoping for some help to repair their defense.

And as the Giants came on the clock with the sixth overall pick, there were plenty of highly touted defensive prospects available. Among them, Kentucky edge-rusher Josh Allen, Houston nose tackle Ed Oliver and Michigan linebacker Devin Bush.

The Giants’ pick: Duke Blue Devils quarterback, Daniel Jones.

Despite the fact that the Giants most likely could have snagged Jones later in the first-round with their 17th pick, they opted to reach for “their guy” at #6 and the fans went ballistic – while the rest of the league had a good laugh. Joe Budden’s wife, Cyn Santana, posted a hilarious reaction video on instagram but he was far from the only Big Blue supporter who was absolutely stunned at the #6 pick.
