Tho the guitar rifts are different, it lends itself to that same feeling which is what Dax thought when he first heard the beat. “Quickly I heard the Nas verse in my head and started to formulate ways to play with his brilliant word play and rhyme scheme. It was one of my favorite songs as a teenager and I wanted to honor that.” With some Al Pacino “Scarface” samples in the mix and in closing, the track has a cinematic texture that takes you back to that Golden Era.
