Black Software Whiz Murdered By White Neighbor After Rejected Police Protection

We are reporting very sad and concerning news today. Tyrique “TJ” Hudson, a brilliant and promising computer scientist of African American descent was murdered by his neighbor. The computer science degree recipient graduated from the historically black college North California A&T State University, completing his program within 2 1/2 years instead of the usual 4. His impressive academic track record, as well as his ambition, landed him an immediate job interview with the reputable aerospace and technology company, Northrop Grumman. The recruiters were so impressed with Hudson that they offered him the job on the spot.

On Monday, April 22nd, TJ’s lifeless body was found after being shot by his 53-year old white neighbor, James Verombeck. According to the Capital Gazette, the alleged perpetrator was standing over the young black man’s body when the police found them. The murder occurred two months after 22-year old Hudson applied for legal protection against Verombeck who allegedly aimed a throat-slicing gesture at Tyrique. The request was denied by a District Court Judge due to a lack of proof.

Considering the unfortunate series of events which ensued, we can only feel for TJ and his family. “TJ was this humble little spirit,” said Candice Winstead-Holden, a close family friend who practically raised Hudson. “TJ would never go back and forth with somebody. He was the type that gets away from trouble, gets away from that type of thing.” James Verombeck has since been charged with first-degree murder.

Rest in peace Tyrique Hudson.
