Anderson .Paak Gleefully Teases Return Of “Spitter” Andre 3000

Upon detailing his Ventura album’s much-anticipated Nate Dogg feature, Anderson .Paak opened up about an equally hyped contribution. While an Andre 3000 verse is becoming a scarcity in today’s hip-hop landscape, every so often the elusive lyricist emerges to bless an artist with his magnetic presence. Speaking with Julie Adenuga on Beats 1, Anderson teased a uniquely exciting variation of Andre’s multifaceted musical personality.

“I got the spitter Andre,” he grins. “That verse-verse Andre.” He proceeds to reflect on the process of playing the waiting game, donning a British accent to best express his character. “I didn’t think it was going to happen,” he admits. “Just feeling like a lot of days it was like I felt like I was writing where it was like, “Day three, still no André. Sorry, Mom. He hasn’t delivered. Day four, still haven’t heard from André.”

“He eventually sent in his verse, and we were just like, “Oh, shoot!'” explains .Paak. “André came in and listened to both albums before they came out. Again, had great conversation and listened to his music.” He also doubles down on Andre’s presence, claiming that the OutKast legend went unreasonably hard for the occasion. Look for that Ventura opener “Come Home,” set to kick off the project on April 12th.
