50 Cent Plans to Complete and Release Pop Smoke’s Album

New York rapper, 50 Cent announced that he will be executive produce and complete Pop Smoke’s album. “I’m on the move listening to Pop smoke, I decided I’m gonna executive produce and finish his album for him,” 50 wrote on Instagram. Steven Victor, CEO of Pop Smoke’s record label will be supporting 50 Cent on this move.

Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was gunned down in his West Hollywood rental home last month. During the rapper’s rise to fame, his rapping style would often be compared to 50 Cent. In a recent interview with Angie Martinez, 50 Cent shares how he has influenced Pop Smoke and the relationship between the two from being his mentor.

“He is 50 Cent, like a new version of it,” 50 states. “I like his style and everything, it not mines. It’s my voice like if we actually talk in the same room, you would hear some of the same things or hear the same tones.”

Since Pop Smoke’s death, his streams have increased by 392% collecting 24.7 million streams on-demand. According to Billboard, The New York rapper’s sales figured have also increased, including a 984% increase for digital downloads and a 12,179% increase in album sales on the day of the rapper’s death.

Pop Smoke’s is most known for his club hits, “Dior” and “Welcome to The Party” which both come from his debut studio album, Meet the Woo.

Details on the name of the forthcoming album have not been released, however, it’s safe to say fans truly miss the late rapper. This week, Paris fans jammed to the rapper’s music in the club along with a hologram of him performing. Rest in Peace to Pop Smoke.
