Chris Bosh Dazzles With Hilarious And Emotional Jersey Retirement Speech

After starting his career with the Toronto Raptors, Chris Bosh took his talents to South Beach so that he could play with his best friends LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. The three superstars ushered in the Super Team era, defining a generation of basketball. Unfortunately for Bosh, his health soon deteriorated after LeBron left the team and he had to enter early retirement. Regardless, Bosh was there for some of the best moments in the franchise’s history, including two NBA titles in 2012 and 2013. On Tuesday night, the Heat honored Bosh by raising his jersey to the rafters.

Dwyane Wade, who is in his last season with the team, gave a quick speech before Bosh took to the podium. While Bosh’s speech was heartfelt, it also included some funny jokes that only speak to his character on and off the court.

“A lot of people don’t know this, but Pat first met me when I was a scrawny 19-year-old kid fresh out of Hutchins, Texas.,” he said. “And unfortunately for him, he had the fifth pick, and I wentfourth, so he had to settle for this kid named D-Wade. “A lot of people don’t know this, but Pat first met me when I was a scrawny 19-year-old kid fresh out of Hutchins, Texas.,” he said. “And unfortunately for him, he had the fifth pick, and I went fourth, so he had to settle for this kid named D-Wade.”

Bosh was teary-eyed as his jersey was raised to the rafters, cementing himself amongst the greats.

Unfortunately for Bosh and the Heat, the team lost the game 104-99 at the hands of the Orlando Magic. The loss pushed the Heat out of a playoff spot.
