Gary Payton’s Nike Zoom GP Is Coming Back In 2019

When you think about signature Nike basketball shoes and the players that had them, Gary Payton probably isn’t a name that you think of all that often. While Payton was a fantastic defensive player for the Seattle Supersonics, he didn’t have the same superstar potential as Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant and for that reason, his signature shoe was forgotten. For those who didn’t know, Payton dropped the Nike Zoom GP, his first official signature shoe, in 1999 only for it to never be released again. Well, the Beaverton brand is putting an end to that, as the Nike Zoom GP will be re-released this year, according to us11.

The sneaker has an oddly futuristic look to it considering it came out before the new millennium. The majority of the shoe is dressed in a grey leather upper, while a panel of black leather runs up the side near the toe box. There is also a flap that wraps over the tongue and is held in place by a buckle strap.

There is no price associated with this shoe yet, but according to Sneaker News, it will release on April 20th at Nike Basketball retailers across North America.
