Tyler the Creator Wins “Best Rap Album” in the 2020 Grammy Awards

Tyler the Creator may have been underrated, but the credible mastermind has just been recognized as he has won a Grammy for “Best Rap Album” for his 5th studio album, IGOR. The competition in this category was very high, Tyler beat out Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III, 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was, Meek Mill’s Championships, and YBN Cordae’s The Lost Boy.

Once announced, Tyler was accompanied on stage by his mother, and long-time friend, Jasper. “I don’t know if I’m gonna be up here again so bear with me,” Tyler began. “One, to my mother, you did a great job raising this guy. Two, to the Clancy’s, my managers, you guys took a seed and watered it, and I thank you for trusting these ideas. Three, to my friends and family for trusting my ideas and putting up with my annoying hyperactive energy but always being there.”

“I never fully felt accepted in rap and stuff so, for yall to always stan by me and get me here, I really appreciate that,” Tyler said before production played music giving Tyler the cue to wrap up his speech.

Following his Grammy win, Tyler took to Twitter for a public service announcement, “YALL GON STOP COUNTING ME OUT!” Congratulations to Tyler the Creator.
