‘Spongebob Squarepants’ Prequel to Air This Summer

Spongebob Squarepants is a staple in our childhoods and the subject of some of the funniest memes on the Internet. It’s only right that we get to see our favorite goofy goober on our small screens one last time.

Nickelodeon unveiled their 2020-2021 content plans, and the new series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years is apart of the line-up. The series will follow a 10-year-old Spongebob at Summer camp, instead of an adult Spongebob who works at the Krusty Krab.

“The series will feature the original show’s core voice cast in Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with series veterans Mary Jo Catlett (Mrs. Puff), Jill Talley (Karen) and Lori Alan (Pearl). Carlos Alazraqui and Kate Higgins will voice new characters,” as per a press release via The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans will get a sneak peek of a young Spongebob in the 3D live-action movie that comes out in May. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run features a flashback that partially takes us to Spongebob’s Summer camp days.
