Nimic Revenue Delivers Visual For “Therapy”

Rapper Nimic Revenue is a bit of an enigma, but the Def Jam artist has become a rising star to watch. The 20-year-old St. Paul native is the first artist signed to Def Jam in 20 years, an accomplishment that was recognized by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. “Already blowing up on the airwaves,” he tweeted. “MPLS – this is our next big star.”

Nimic Revenue’s sound has been described as “childlike,” but her subject matter is anything but. In her single “Therapy,” Nimic talks out the issues she’s faced, and in the video shows someone who has attempted to share their thoughts with peers who aren’t paying them any attention. In the visual, Nimic performs in various high school backdrop scenes where students are frozen in time. She raps about being down and liquored out while looking for therapy and clarity as the video walks through a day in the life of a person who is tired of going unnoticed. It’s catchy and uncomplicated while highlighting the lyricism of who Def Jam hopes to be this generation’s next influential artist.
