Michael Jordan On Tiger Woods: “The Greatest Comeback I’ve Ever Seen”

Adding Michael Jordan to the list of superstar athletes who were impressed by Tiger Woods’ performance at The Masters last weekend. Woods, 38, put on the green jacket for the first time since 2005, and fifth time overall, on Sunday afternoon as he now sits just three career major titles behind all-time leader Jack Nicklaus.

Following his return atop The Masters leader board, Woods received an outpouring of support, which included congratulatory messages from Serena Williams and Kobe Bryant, as well as a sneaker tribute from Chris Paul. President Trump also revealed that Tiger will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

In a recent interview with The Athletic’s David Aldridge, MJ described Tiger’s latest achievement as “the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen.”

“I took two years off to play baseball, but nothing like that,” Jordan told Aldridge. “I’m pretty sure he questioned himself, whether he could get it back, and he had to put a lot of work in. But he took it head-on. He had to change his game; he had to change his perspective a little bit. To me, it was the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen.”

In addition to MJ’s praises, legendary broadcaster Jim Nantz, who has covered the PGA Tour for three decades, described Tiger’s victory on Sunday as, “the best event I’ve ever covered.”

Nantz tells The Washington Post:

“We didn’t get to have Jack have a celebration scene. Tell me when you’ve seen a better celebration scene than this one Sunday? The chanting and the moment with his family, I’d have to rank that number one.”
“It’s the best event I’ve ever covered. And I feel very fortunate to have been in that spot. It inspired millions, watching people see what he did.”
