Lizzo’s New Album “Cuz I Love You” Is All About Female Empowerment

Lizzo’s New Album “Cuz I Love You” Is All About Female Empowerment

When Lizzo released “Juice” a few months ago, she likely did not imagine just how impactful it would become. The track was summer-ready in the middle of the winter and acted as a perfect precursor to what we could expect from her new album. The 30-year-old released a follow-up single with Missy Elliott, proving that she’s really out here and she’s one of the most talented young voices in the game. Earning assists from the aforementioned Elliott and the 1017 general Gucci Mane, Lizzo has officially dropped her third studio album Cuz I Love You.

Lizzo clearly had a few goals in mind for this project. For starters, she wants everyone to know that she’s an independent woman, making her own coin and spoiling herself whenever she wants. She’s also putting on for all the big girls, showing them that the shape of your body does not determine your level of success. Finally, Lizzo wanted to deliver a ton of grooves with this album. Each new song on the tracklist brings elements of pop, funk, hip-hop, and other genres. This has true potential to be on a few year-end lists when it’s all said and done. What do you think of Lizzo’s new album?
