JAY-Z & Roc Nation Take Out Full-Page Ads in Newspapers Across the Nation in Honor of George Floyd

JAY-Z's Team Roc Pens Letter to Georgia Officials Urging for 'Fair Trial' for Ahmaud Arbery

JAY-Z and Team ROC, the philanthropic arm of Roc Nation, have tag-teamed with families who have lost children to police violence for a full-page ad in newspapers across the country. The ads are in dedication to George Floyd.

You can see the letter that ran in The New York Times, The Denver Post, The Chicago Tribune, The LA Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Austin American Statement, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, among several others. You can read the letter in full below. 

The letter is signed by he parents of Botham Jean, DJ Henry and Antwon Rose II – all 3 of their sons were tragically killed by police – as well as influencers such as Van Jones, Charlamagne tha God, Angela Rye, the attorneys for Floyd (Ben Crump & S. Lee Merritt) and several activists from organizations like The Innocence Project, Until Freedom, etc.

Danroy “DJ” Henry was an unarmed, former Pace University football player who was fatally shot by a police officer on Oct. 17, 2010 in Mount Pleasant, N.Y. Antwon Rose Jr. was an unarmed 17-year-old and honor roll student who was fatally shot by an East Pittsburgh police officer on June 19, 2018. Botham Jean was an unarmed 26-year-old man who was fatally shot by an off-duty Dallas Police Department patrol officer on Sept. 6, 2018.
