JAY-Z Looking to Hire 100 Staff Members for Reopening of 40/40 Club
The 40/40 club is on the way back. According to Page Six, JAY-Z is reopening the Madison Square location of his club in August and is set to hire for 100 positions.
Bartenders and serves will be requested for an open call on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The waitstaff will receive $20 an hour, a rate that far surpasses the minimum wage, and will also offer tips.
“Jay is attempting to stimulate the food and nightlife economy in NYC,” a source said to Page Six. The New York Post has highlighted how many nightlife and restaurant workers have struggled in hiring workers following the pandemic.
In another move, JAY-Z and Will Smith are joining forces to make home owning more accessible. Smith’s Dreamers VC and Arrive, the investment arm of Jay’s Roc Nation, are among the companies that participated in the capital raise for Landis Technologies, a startup that aims to guide renters on their path to owning a home. You can learn more about that move here.
