J Hus Puts In Work For The “Daily Duppy”

We recently heard J Hus trading formidable bars with Dave Santan on the slept on “Disaster,” which found the British rapper in fine lyrical form. A little while back, Hus was released from an eight-month prison stint, and proceeded to join Drake onstage during a show in London. Now, Hus has hit the ground running with a contribution to “Daily Duppy,” taking to a bass-driven instrumental from TSB & Nyge. For five-plus minutes, Hus spits bars over a smooth instrumental, reflecting on some of life’s challenges. “Just lost my pops, wasn’t close with him,” he raps. “But it felt like part of my soul’s missing.”

The lyricism continues to unfold, with Hus deftly sliding subtle punchlines and double-entendres into his lines. “See your life fall apart from one poor decision, it’s only when you’re stressed you turn to religion,” spits Hus. “If you want to conquer them, then cause a division.” If you aren’t convinced that Hus is among one of the most promising young rhymers in the game, check out his contribution to the Daily Duppy series right here.

Quotable Lyrics

Just fu*ked up my zoot it needs re-billing,
Metaphor for the life that I been living
Cause I bit one fruit and it was forbidden
See your life fall apart from one poor decision,
It’s only when you’re stressed you turn to religion
If you want to conquer them, then cause a division
