Gunna & Smokepurpp Combine For “Baguettes” Off The New “Lost Planet” Mixtape

Back in November of last year, Smokepurpp and Gunna came together to form a one-two punch on “Bless Yo Drip.” The song’s eventual rollout was, how do I put this kindly: a ‘hot mess’ in a hot tub kind of situation where both parties couldn’t agree on the particulars. But after much deliberation, the song was eventually released under the “right condition,” much to our relief.

Smokepurpp and Gunna’s second-ever collaboration was administered with a whole lot more poise. On “Baguettes,” Gunna does a good job of stoking the flames without dredging the awkward. Smokepurpp could have easily allowed Gunna to run the gamut free of charge but in the spirit of “new age responsibility” we find him doing much of the heavy-lifting on the song. Purpp gets a pass for bunching repeated lines into couplets because he wears it well, stutter and all.
