French Montana Sued For Allegedly Jacking The “Ain’t Worried About Nothin” Beat

According to a report published by TMZ, French Montana is being sued for copyright infringement for allegedly jacking someone’s beat to create “Ain’t Worried About Nothin” in 2013. The court documents list Hotwire the Producer aka Eddie Lee Richardson as the claimant fielding the accusations.

The song in question is called “*Hood* Pushin’ Weight,” and is nearly impossible find in its itinerant form. That’s because Eddie says the song was never meant for consumption. The instrumental was submitted to SoundCloud back in 2012, under the presumption that anyone looking to purchase it would contact him directly. He describes the record as a “unique and artistic array of digital sounds and rhythms.”

Eddie wholeheartedly believes that he’s owed a hefty percentage of the proceeds from Montana’s “Ain’t Worried About Nothin,” akin to the flat fee he would have commanded, plus an undisclosed number of add-ons totaling $5 million.

If Eddie Lee’s accusations hold up, Montana will have committed himself to a) stealing the inspiration b) getting his house-producer to recreate the beat on a frame-by-frame basis, only to add his vocals in the last minute stand. We’ll let the courts decide this one before we go any further. Give us your take, does Eddie have a solid case?
