Cincinnati Bengals Running Back Arrested For Third Time This Offseason

It has been quite the offseason for Cincinnati Bengals second-year running back Mark Walton.

According to the Miami Herald, the former Miami Hurricanes star surrendered to police on Thursday to face felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession and reckless driving, all stemming from a high-speed car chase that happened on the night of March 12 in North Miami-Dade.

It marks the third time that Walton was arrested this offseason. 

Per the Miami Herald:

“According to court documents, Miami-Dade police officers tried to pull over Walton’s rented BMW because it was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. The car abruptly pulled over in the front yard of a home in the 2300 block of Northwest 86th Street.”

“One officer saw Walton getting out of the car and ordered him to the ground. The speedy running back fell to the ground, the warrant said, but then “sprang to his feet” and ran off.”

During the foot chase, Walton was shot in the back with a taser, but he pulled out the prongs and ran off into the night. According to the Miami Herald, officers found 14 grams of marijuana, a 9mm carbine rifle and several fully loaded clips in his abandoned vehicle. 

Walton, who was drafted in the fourth round by the Bengals in 2018, was also arrested on February 16 and charged with misdemeanor battery for taking a neighbor’s phone during an argument in a parking garage. He was previously arrested in January on a misdemeanor marijuana possession.
