Cantrell Speaks Passionately On Love & Loss In “Roses/Understand” Video (Exclusive)

Hailing from a small town in Georgia, Cantrell has managed to break through and become one of the state’s golden children. Through lyricism and powerful storytelling, the rapper uses his voice to gain fans and notoriety, speaking his truth on the microphone and relaying strong messages to his audience. The young star released his latest project Devil Never Even Lived this year and he’s now capitalizing on the traction he gained a few months ago, dropping two visuals in one with “Roses” and “Understand.”

The video premieres exclusively today with HNHH, starting out with the artist walking through the cemetery, laying on the ground and promising to rejoin his fallen friend “on the other side.” Cantrell is learning to cope with love and loss, which is something he told us he wanted to portray in the clip. “Jerrell Lamar from OPN SZN (who directed the video) shared an amazing quote with me,” said the rapper. “‘Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.’ -Kahlil Gibran, Lebanese-American author and poet. Working together we wanted to capture the sentiment of loss and love, and how through it all, things must always come full circle. Even in the darkest of your times there’s light at the end.”

It’s clear that Cantrell has his head screwed on tight and he’s bound to make a major impact in the music industry. Check out his new project and let us know your thoughts on the double video in the comments.
