6lack Responds to Frequent ‘R&B Is Missing’ Claims

6lack breaks it down for today’s R&B critics.

“It’s too much good Hip-Hop and R&B out here for y’all to be complaining about what we don’t have. Saying that you miss something specific in R&B is equivalent to saying you miss bars or substance in Hip-Hop. It’s always somebody who do it; the question is do you support them?”

His next statement is the heart and soul of his statement.

“Do the people who do whatever it is you desire so much. Do they know how to make music in the current climate? Or is that sh*t just not good?” says 6lack.

“Let’s stop complaining about what we ain’t got.”

6lack’s messages comes shortly after Diddy stated that he’s bringing R&B back.

The Bad Bod mogul is currently holding auditions for the return of MTV’s, Making The Band in search of new R&B talent. While the search for new talent will never cease, one must accredit the current artist who has carried the genre in recent years.

In the day and age, Hip-Hop is not only music’s biggest genre but has grown exponentially and globally. Hip-Hop has always been tied to R&B as the epitome of Black music. While Hip-Hop has taken over the airwaves, R&B still lives within a plethora of playlists on several streaming platforms. It is all about seeking out these artists.

Over the past 5 years, a number of rhythm and blues singers have emerged. The list is extensive and includes, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, Ella Mai, SZA, H.E.R., Jacquees, Tory Lanez, Snoh Aalegra and many more. Be sure to tap it and in the words of 6lack, stop complaining about what we don’t have.
